    the past three months

AIDS Walk for Life, BCPWA, Red Ribbon Breakfast

My last update was three months ago, and for any one running a blog, that is an incredibly long time to be away. Life has taken me in several new directions lately and they have all taken away from keeping you current with my goings on.

Last year the Board of Directors at BC Persons With AIDS Society appointed me as Treasurer. And in these economic times, that position has come with it’s own challenges, particularly as BCPWA is very dependant on donations from a broad range of donors. Now that in itself is quite something, but what has happened over the last three months has been truly an amazing experience. I have …

    1. successfully run for re-election to the societies Board of Directors (and I’m Treasurer again),
    2. helped the Because We Care team raise over $5000 in this years AIDS Walk for Life,
    3. and helped launch the inaugural Red Ribbon Breakfast and raised over $19,000.

    Not bad for three months!

But in that time I have also grown my craft in ways that have even surprised me.

    • I was backup photographer at my neighbours wedding at Third Beach in Stanley Park over the Labour Day weekend. I’m still working on their wedding album.
    • A much needed weekend get away up Sechelt where I did nothing but relax and enjoy the beauty of this magnificent BC coastal community. I am very happy with much of my work over those wonderful four days. Have a look …
    • I created my first music video to a friend’s version of Brian Adam’s ‘Heaven’ that was used in the inaugural Red Ribbon Breakfast fundraiser. The response I have had from many friends has been absolutely amazing. This has been my most rewarding work so far.
    • And last, but by no means least, my web site and blog have a whole new look and feel that I am very happy about.

Over the next couple of months I’ll be expanding a lot more on these and other adventures, so thanks for hanging around. There’s more to come.
